Club Members shared fun experiences and special events in their lives that they are thankful with Give-Back-Bucks — where they make a donation to the Club, District or International programs.
In honor of his own birthday, President Marc chose to go “Golden” (auto deduction into the Rotary Foundation) in the process Marc & Wally created one simple form to fill out, return to Wally and the process is complete.
It was also discovered one of newest members, Jim Scaly shares a Birthday with Marc,
Bev Graham celebrated with family and Dennis Marks spent his Birthday in Bodega — both gave back to the Rotary Community Fund.

Rotary Club of Windsor collected $3,200 at the Sept 15th meeting to support communities affected by the Valley Fire. The Lakeport Rotary fund will be disbursed directly to the need as determined by the four clubs once we’re able to assess what the needs are with our affected Rotarians and the community as a whole. We won’t be passing funds onto other organizations.
Wally & Sandy Krutz are going to the Calistoga Rotary Club meeting Wednesday to get an update on assistance needed for Families of the Lake County Fire. Anyone interested in up-coming hands on projects with the Calistoga Rotary Club please contact Wally or Sandy.

Club Event — President-Elect, John LeCave, is working on a CATS (Club Activity and Task Sheet) for the Wine Raffle Fundraiser which is on aim with Cupid for February 2016 — more details to come after the October 8th Board/Leadership meeting.
NEW Raffle Game…
President Marc congratulated Community Superhero, Ed Turner, for his strength and aim with the slingshot last week. Ed was the luck raffle ticket holder who was able to knock down the cups the spelled everyone’s worst enemy: CANCER. He was $849 richer for the effort!
Reminding the Community Superheroes that they still need to refine their skill and agility (previous $849 pot means that our aim needs work), President Marc introduced a new skill Raffle Ring Toss Game. Object is to throw the darts so they land inside the circle — of course there is a catch…you have to pick a Superhero partner who must also throw it in the circle. Jim Scally had the lucky ticket and selected John LeCave (who was wearing the same shirt — Team Turquoise!). The Club made note of their strategy as they almost won (got one of the two darts to end up in the circle).
Featured Speaker was introduced by President Marc….
President Marc introduced our featured speaker — Heather Cullen.
In addition to list of accomplishments (past School Board member, Director of the Children’s Community Choir, Founder of the Windsor Performing Arts Academy, contributor to the start of the
Raven Theater in Windsor, Teacher of Music and Drama at WMS, Music at WCE, and Choir at Cali), Heather Cullen was back to remind us of the fun she get to enjoy as the Coach/Director for Odyssey of the Mind — a program for youth that helps develop team work and life skills.
Heather brought two Windsor students (her son Ethan and Leo Becnel’s Grandson, Kassian) connected to Odyssey of the Mind to facilitate a construction competition between Club Member table groups. Heather and the two students had a project for each table to complete, it definitely promotes, team work, imagination, and problem solving. Club members came up with some pretty awesome solutions.
Heather also mentioned our own E. Marie, & Leslie Lewis are performers in the play “History of Windsor” that will be presented November 18th & 19th at Windsor Middle School. There is also the opportunity for The presence of the The Rotary Club of Windsor to promote membership.
