Rotary Youth Exchange

Every year, the Rotary Club of Windsor sponsors a high school student from Windsor to go on a year long adventure to another country.  At the same time, we sponsor a student from another country to come here to live for a year.

This exchange is part of a world wide exchange program through Rotary International.  The program was created to help create peace and understanding in the world.  It is very hard to hold on to old stereotypes once you've lived in the home of a family outside your native country.

Likewise, when you host a student, your life is enriched by learning another culture and sharing your ways of life with another.  The incoming students live with 3-4 families during the year to see how a variety of Americans live.  The students and host families develop life long relationships.

If you are interested in learning more about sending a child abroad or hosting an incoming exchange student, please contact Renee Hyde at 707-328-1656.

"I've enjoyed Rotary since joining as a charter member in 1987.  Here I find people who are aligned with my own vision of what community contribution can create, together with the know-how and willingness to take action.  Rotary has a positive impact on the world and around the corner.  I've formed great friendships and experienced a sense of involvement that continues to exceed my expectations."
