Last month, the Rotary Club of Windsor, alongside members from Healdsburg Noon, Sebastopol Sunrise, Santa Rosa Sunrise, Healdsburg Interact, and dedicated community volunteers, rolled up their sleeves to make a difference. In collaboration with the Russian Riverkeepers, we took on the daunting task of clearing out Arundo Donax—a highly invasive plant notorious for hogging water and disrupting ecosystems along the Russian River.

With teamwork, determination, and a shared commitment to conservation, our efforts helped restore visibility and improve water flow. Seeing the transformation from the dense overgrowth to that first clear view of the river was nothing short of gratifying. This project was made possible thanks to our district grant, underscoring the Rotary Club of Windsor’s unwavering dedication to environmental stewardship.

Through initiatives like this, we continue to prioritize sustainability and community action. Whether it’s removing invasive species, promoting ecological health, or supporting local conservation programs, we believe that small efforts lead to big change.

A huge thank you to everyone who participated—your hard work made a lasting impact. Here’s to more projects that protect and preserve the natural beauty of our region! Please consider joining us at our next environmental clean event!
