Joining Our Club

Why Join our Club?

Windsor Rotary enables members the opportunity to get involved in Windsor’s rich civic and city life, and to expand their international scope of understanding!

We have great speakers, events, and members!

The cornerstone of our club is a weekly lunch with a distinguished speaker. But we have many other activities, events, and committee activities.

Our purpose is to:

  • Build friendships among business and professional leaders who share an interest in Windsor and a global outlook
  • Enrich and educate members with stimulating weekly breakfast meetings and speakers on topics of local, national and international interest
  • Support the Windsor and international communities through philanthropy and volunteer projects
  • Expand international understanding through a diverse and international membership, welcoming visitors from Rotary’s other 32,000 clubs worldwide, scholarship and exchange programs, and Rotary travel opportunities
  • Foster and facilitate a peaceful, prosperous, just and sustainable world in partnership with Rotary clubs worldwide

Membership in the Rotary Club of Windsor

Thank you for your interest in becoming a member of the Rotary Club of Windsor. New members are extremely important to us and we are always eager to receive visits from persons interested in joining our club.

Membership in The Rotary Club of Windsor requires an invitation and sponsorship by two members of the club as well as an available business or professional classification. Rotary uses the classification system to establish and maintain a vibrant cross-section or representation of the community’s business, vocational, and professional interests among members and to develop a pool of resources and expertise to successfully implement service projects.

Often a person being considered for membership is invited by a club member or sponsor to attend one of our weekly meetings to learn more about Rotary. The membership process may take 6 – 8 weeks from the time a proposal is submitted for consideration.

If you are accepted into membership, you would be expected to pay various membership and breakfast fees.

Please feel free to contact us at info@windsorrotary.site for further information on becoming a member of our club.

Attendance

All Rotary clubs keep attendance records and it is the member’s responsibility to sign-in when picking up his/her name badge. According to RI rules and club by-laws, a member should maintain a minimum attendance of 60% for each 1/2 year. This is not hard to satisfy since members can “make-up” meetings in other Rotary clubs locally or most anywhere else in the world. Members can also get attendance credits when they attend and participate in committee meetings and activities and attend club social events.

There is a listing of other area club meeting locations on the District 5130 website www.rotary5130.org. If you are going to be traveling out of the area you may call the Rotary office or log on to the Rotary International website www.rotary.org for make-up options in any location in the US or outside of the country. No reservations are required to attend another Rotary meeting.

Publications

Rotary International publishes The Rotarian magazine monthly. Members are encouraged to review this magazine as it provides a wealth of information reporting on the activities of Rotary International and Rotary clubs worldwide.

Regular Meetings

The Rotary Club of Windsor meets each Tuesday at 7:15 am (with the exception of holidays). Meetings are held at Charlie’s Restaurant at the Windsor Golf Course, 1390 19th Hole Dr., Windsor, CA. Occasionally meetings will be held offsite and members will be alerted to the alternate location.
